The rePLANt project is an unprecedented collaborative effort in Portugal, operated by ForestWISE, to study the forest and its valorization. This project was presented to the community on March 23, 2021 and has, through its collaborative strategies, the following objectives:

  • Valuing the Portuguese forest by applying technologies and strategies that allow the integrated management of forest and fire.
  • Develop new products, processes and services contributing to the reduction of fire risk and introducing a high degree of innovation, with positive impacts throughout the chain, namely on its service providers and forest producers.
  • Create an impact on employment, on the internationalization capacity of companies in the sector and on their competitiveness.

It has the participation of 20 entities in the forestry sector, from companies to universities and research centers: Sonae Arauco, Navigator Forest Portugal, Altri Florestal, Amorim Florestal, DS Smith, EDP Distribuição, REN, ForestWISE, Inesc Tec, Whereness, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, University of Coimbra, Higher Institute of Agronomy, National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research, Florecha, Trigger, Fravizel, Space Mosaic, University of Porto (FEUP) and Labelec.
