The results of the rePlant project will be made public this Thursday, June 1st. The conclusions of the three years of the initiative will be disclosed at the event “Digital Forest: Enter the next level”.
According to The Navigator Company, which led the project in conjunction with ForestWise, the three-year project represented an investment of 5.6 million euros and brought together more than 20 entities from the forestry sector, academia and research entities: “This mobilizing initiative arose from the need to develop integrated and innovative solutions that ensure the sustainable management of our forests,” says the company, adding that the research carried out led to the creation of “new products, processes and services, largely supported by digital technologies, which contribute to reducing the risk of fire. In addition, the project aimed to “improve the management and decision-making processes of forestry and energy companies, introducing a high degree of innovation in integrated forest and fire management.
The results presentation session will also include a debate on “innovation and technology in forestry in the era of digital transformation, the future of forestry and its contribution to the bioeconomy”, which will be attended by João Faria Conceição, COO of REN; António Redondo, CEO of The Navigator Company; José Soares de Pina, CEO of Altri, SGPS; and José Manuel Bigares Careto, Chairman of the Executive Board of E-REDES.
